Social Citizenship Indicator Program , SCIP

Overview

Abstract

The Social Citizenship Indicator Program was initiated by Walter Korpi in the early 1980s and is now offered by the Swedish Institute for Social Research and Stockholm University. SCIP is now part of the Social Policy Indicators (SPIN) database, aiming at making comparative and longitudinal research possible on causes and consequences of welfare states. The SCIP website contains a database of quantitative and quantified qualitative data for comparative research on welfare state developments. The focus of the project is on social rights and duties as defined in national legislation on social insurance schemes.
